So I’ve taken quite a bit of a break from blogging over the past year, as I took a break from Vue for a while and have been up to other things. That isn’t to say I’ve stopped designing/modeling completely. I’m still a broker with Cornucopia 3D, although I haven’t published any new items for almost a year. I do help out other brokers once in a while testing their items though. Back in July, I took a few great courses from fxphd.com in a 10-week term (101 Maya 2011, 102 RenderMan, and 201 Vue). Excellent classes and finally found a modeling app I really enjoy, haha. The Vue class was also nice, since I was able to use Vue 8.5 xStream with Maya. I recently received an upgrade to Vue 9 xStream and have been playing around with some of the new features and interface design.
In October, a friend was able to fly down and we took a long weekend for a longboarding trip in SoCal. Gotta say, alot of fun and took a bunch of pics/vids with my iPod Touch 4g which turned out surprisingly nice (especially the video). We cruised all over, mostly in San Diego, Del Mar, Encinitas, and Carlsbad. My Original Torpedo 40 held up nicely. I should get some pics up.
Also just recently, I got my first car! I know, for being 22 I’m kinda late to the party but haven’t really needed one very much up until this point, as a longboard or my fam’s bimmer seemed to work out well enough. So, I was able to get a 2005 VW Jetta – the exact make/model/color I’d been looking at for quite a while. Super sporty and looks almost new – no dents, just a few very small paint chips from door dings – but that’s to be expected for a 5 year old car. Overall, couldn’t be more excited about it. Looks and drives great – again, I’ll have to get some pics up soon…
Games I’m currently playing – PC: Call of Duty Black Ops, PS3: Need for Speed Hot Pursuit (2010) and Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood to name a few. The PC gaming clan I’m in switched from COD4 and MW2 to Black Ops for the most part, and has been fun ever since Activision evened out some of the bugs and glitches to hit the PC version. Looking forward to Gran Turismo 5 coming out next week! (Nov. 24)
I’ve done a couple upgrades to my custom comp recently. I upgraded my graphics card in the past couple months from the EVGA GTX 280 to EVGA GTX 480 SC+ and have had nothing but great times with it. Runs super cool and quiet with Precision. Now the 580’s out, but don’t see a big enough difference between the two to make me want to buy it. I also recently purchased a new 1TB internal hdd for a new install of Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. Really enjoying the faster boot times and features compared to Vista Ultimate 64 – plus, DX11 is nice, especially in Metro 2033.
And probably the biggest news of all, I’m currently super busy preparing to move to the LA area in the next couple weeks! I know that’s the place I gotta go to lift my career off the ground and attend further schooling. And of course the longboarding in that area is sick, haha.
Hmm…I should attempt surfing sometime…
Since I’ve been mostly posting about my designs/projects up until now, I thought it’d be nice for me to start adding some more personal posts about anything and everything. I’ll try to keep this blog up and going by posting more often – thanks to all the readers that are still following and I hope to also update my website with some recent projects in the near future.
