(RoW Aug. 27 – Sept. 2)
I created RYO while playing around with my cell shading method in Poser/Vue again. I really enjoy this style of art and had alot of fun creating this image.
In Poser, I began creating my character. I used a few custom morphs on RYO, but the hardest thing to get right was the hair. Usually, I just use one hair figure on my characters, but this time I couldn’t find a style I liked. So, using a few different kinds of hair figures/props, I mixed and matched, spun alot of parameter dials, and then textured each one with the same colors. When my character was complete, I applied my cell shading method to him and called it good.
I imported my character into Vue with the “Use Poser Shader Tree” checked. Also, the room in which I placed him was set up first in Poser and imported using that same option. After working with the lighting a bit, I rendered the scene and moved into Photoshop.
In Photoshop, I made a few touch-ups on my figure, adjusted the lighting a little, and added the border and signature. Since I didn’t use just one hair figure, it didn’t fit that great onto my character, so I touched up the forhead area with a few different brushes. Thanks for looking!
There is a print available of RYO in my deviantART store here. Enjoy!
