(RoW Aug. 13 – 19)
This image was created for a recent contest called “Darkness and Light”. The voting for the contest got over a few days ago and the winners will be announced shortly. Hopefully, my image will place in the top three.
Revelation is my interpretation of “Darkness and Light”. I completed this image after working on it for a couple weeks. Something that I had never really tried before was creating two different scenes in Vue, render each one separately, and then add both renders together in postwork to create one image. The hardest thing to do was making sure the camera angles were correct, so that when I added both images together, the angles would match up.
I spent alot of time in Poser posing each figure and prop and then importing them into Vue 6. The angel figure accesses the Poser Shader Tree while rendering for better materials.
In Photoshop, I added each image to one canvas and then started the process of integrating both of them together by making some minor changes. After changing a few things, I painted with quite a few different kinds of brushes, making sure the two images flowed as one (the sword across the middle of the image is a render from Poser I did a while ago). Last of all, I painted on some final details and called it finished.
There is a print available of Revelation in my deviantART store here. Thanks for looking and enjoy!
I like it a lot, Brady! I hope you win!
[...] “Darkness and Light” contest winners were announced this afternoon and my image, Revelation, was at the very top – in first place! [...]
your image is quit self explainatory and shows the faith of those who are still in the darkness of this world (sin), but what of the faith of those who are in the light (righteousness)
