With the rising of a new and powerful ruler in the far-reaches of the galaxy, many planetary outposts have been abandoned to consolidate military forces in preparation for the biggest stellar battle of all time. As troops are transported back to the home world, they leave behind friends, enemies, and the homes they knew for decades.

The current challenge in the Materials & Terrains forum on C3D is called “Forgotten Planets”. I created this scene with an idea I had a while ago – and then it turned into a great “Forgotten Planets” challenge entry. I had alot of fun with this scene since I really enjoy creating sci-fi worlds.
This scene rendered in about 1 hour and 45 minutes. There are 2 directional lights, 34 objects, and 742,859,519 polygons in this scene. I didn’t have to do any postwork on this image (only border and signature).
Note: I’ll be taking some time off for the next couple weeks, so I won’t be posting any RoWs during that time. I’ll start my Render of the Weeks back up the 9th of July.
