(RoW June 11 – 17)

This image was my second entry to the urban fantasy contest. I didn’t end up winning anything, but I still had a bunch of fun creating this image.

I used my cell shading method in Vue once again with this image. In Vue 6, I built the Japanese city from free models around the web, posed my characters in Poser, and imported them into my scene. After setting up the atmosphere and lighting correctly, I rendered the image and began the postwork.

I ended up doing alot of postwork on this image. Mostly because I was experimenting with different effects and layers in Photoshop. To begin, I cut the characters out of my image and made duplicate copies of them. I changed the layer opacities on each layer, and I also cut out the red sun and placed that layer on top of the image. When the background was finished, I applied a custom filter to it and called it finished.
