“The EcoSystem revolution has redefined the way CG artists create natural scenery. Populating your scenes with millions of plants, trees, rocks and other objects became as easy as one click.” e-on software.com
I’ve always wanted to populate mountains with a huge forest of evergreen trees. EcoSystems made this possible. In Vue 6, I created 5 terrains with a base material of rock and snow (higher altitudes). I then created an EcoSystem of evergreen trees for each terrain. Sure enough, with one click, I had my forest. But I also wanted to control my forest with altitudes (how high up on the mountain the trees go, etc.), so I messed around with the Influence parameters a bit.
I then loaded in a pre-made atmosphere (with light rays), and played around with the different atmosphere options a little.
After the 2 hour render, I applied a slight blur to the image in Photoshop and added my signature. But, in order to show the mountains’ real majesty, I rendered the image at a much higher resolution (applied the same amount of blur in Photoshop and added my signature). This render took a while longer (6-7 hours), but was well worth the wait.
Overall stats:
1 light
5 terrains
16,962,444,187 polygons (pretty amazing, huh? Thanks to EcoSystems this scene barely slowed my computer down at all. In fact, I didn’t even notice any drop in speed.)
Thanks for looking and enjoy!
Wow!! That’s just beautiful!
Love it!
Whoa. Its beautiful, Brady!! I LOVE the trees!
