(RoW Nov. 13 – 19)
Well, it’s that time of year again, and the weather’s getting kind of chilly. We had our first snowfall a couple of days ago (it didn’t stay long, but that’s okay). Here’s a snowy mountainscape that seems to capture the cold, below zero, atmosphere farther up north:
To start, I created one procedural terrain and gave it a rock texture. I wanted this to be a snowy scene, so one of the hardest things was creating a rock and snow texture. Thankfully, I had bought a snowy mountain texture from C3D, so all I needed to do was customize it to work with my procedural terrain. After completing the texture, I worked on the atmosphere. Giving the sky some greys and whites, I decided no on clouds. I needed the atmo to appear crisp and clear, so as to give the image a chilly feeling.
In Photoshop, I opened my render and painted in some wisps of fog. I then turned all colors off and adjusted some settings. Enjoy!
I like it the look you created. You’re learning lots. M
I love it! It looks like a mountain pass from The Fellowship of the Ring.
Wow, that’s beautiful!
I agree with Erin, it reminds me of LOTR scenery. Hey, you recreated New Zealand!
You did a great job!! It’s looks really really cold!!!
Wow! Beautiful picture, Brady. Good work.
