High Seas

(RoW Aug. 14 – 20)

high_seas_origI set up the scene with an idea in mind, and used intesive postwork to finish it off. Here is the original image after rendering in Vue 5: High Seas Original. I created a sand-dune like terrain and gave it a water and foam material, to form the wave. I put together the boat (pre-made model, just added all the miscellaneous parts that came with it) in Poser 6, imported it into Vue, and placed it in the spot that I wanted it. I rendered the scene with 70% quality.

Moving into Photoshop, I started messing with all the different kinds of brushes high_seasand textures. I found one brush that resembled foam and splashes, and used it a bunch on the image. I added some more white foam, and gave the image a canvas texture.

Finished, my scene created in Vue became a painting on canvas. Amazing what postwork can accomplish! Here is the final image: High Seas. Thanks for looking!
