A new challenge on Cornucopia 3D focuses on creating mountains. My first entry for the General Mountain Challenge is called The Silent Planet. This image is very complex and took quite a while to render. The scene contains 6 1024×1024 (highly detailed) mountain terrains, 82 buildings, 1 light, over 10 million polygons, and Global Illumination. I created my own material for the mountains- trying to get the rocky/deserted feel.

Ohmygosh. That was very cool. Can you make that planet rise in the background, like a moonrise? Wow. We have GOT to start playing around with integrating your animations with my live footage.
