Chess in the Park

(RoW April 3 – 9)

chessChess in the Park took up most of last week. To start, I created and posed the people in Poser and then imported them as objects into Vue 5. If a pose wasn’t quite the right way, I had to go back to Poser and change it. I turned the texture of the ground to grass and added two white chairs and a table. I imported the chess board from poser and set it on the table. Then I set the two chess players in their chairs. I wanted a sort of park feel, so I grew a couple of trees and set the fencing by the table. It looked good, yet the grass (ground) went on forever and I didn’t want the park to look that large. So I imported a city scene that I made in Poser as object and set it in back of the fence. That way my created world looked like a park in a city.

The effects (reflections on the table), Global Illumination, and polygons made for high rendering times (about 2 hours). It took a few times to render this picture, as I spotted a few mistakes every time. So it took probably about 8 hours of rendering time in all to create this final image.
