Morning Run

(RoW March 27 – April 2)

Happy Birthday, Mom! Here’s your birthday card.

morning_runI created Morning Run knowing that I wanted a horse in a pasture with the sun coming up. But where to start? I laid out some fencing, textured it. Grew some grass, weeds, and trees. Placed the sun in the sky with some clouds. Posed a horse in Poser 6, added it to the scene- and wallah! No. It wasn’t that easy. After placing all the objects, it just didn’t look right. The light in the scene looked absolutely horrid. A large lens flare from the camera (look at last week’s render of the week) filled the screen so you couldn’t see anything else. And the objects in the scene looked a little cartoonish. I toned the light down quite a bit, faded the lens flare as much as possible, and blurred the image ever-so-slightly (this took quite a while).

Now to render. Again, the more objects in the scene- the longer rendering time (Each object is made out polygons. There are over 1,000,000 polygons in this scene- the most I’ve ever worked with so far.) I rendered this scene with the best graphics available (so it took around 30 min.) But finally the rendering process was over and I was staring at this final image.
